Designing a unique brand language for an everyday ritual

As part of a graduate school design project, I created a functionally unique coffee grinder and refined brand language for a fictional company.

How might we help people reduce spilling coffee grounds when grinding coffee in the morning?

Inspired by an image of a falling water, I set out on to design a coffee grinder that appears to be suspended in time. The goal: to communicate a sense of weightlessness with a product and process often regarded as a burden. This product uses a magnetically sealed cup and burr-grinding aperture to minimize ground coffee from spilling onto your counter.
